Meet Our Team

Selena (Principal)

  • Bachelor of Arts – Dance (Contemporary), University of Western Sydney UWS

  • Masters of Education (Dance and Drama – Secondary), University of Western Sydney UWS

Drawing upon over 20 years of dance industry experience via dance training, performance and teaching, my passion is sharing my love of dance. I truly believe that dance should be for everyone, irrespective of age, ability, physique, background or circumstance. Whether you are interested in performing and competing, or whether you just love learning and moving for artistic expression, our classes can cater for everyone.

When I’m not teaching, I’m busy being a mother to my four children, and engaging in local activities with my family.

Most recently, I was a proud finalist in the 2020 Wollondilly Women in Excellence Awards.

My love for Dance started at the age of 3.  Tap and Jazz to begin with, and later on Ballet.  My dance school performed at numerous fetes, festivals, and shows, along with loads of eisteddfods which were always a highlight and I loved performing on stage.  Dancing were the best years of my life with my dance friends who I'm proud to say I still have today. I believe this is so important in children's lives and development and hope that I can contribute to that.

I trained and completed all my examinations through British Dancing Association (BDA) for 19 years, although Tap was always my favourite and I gained my BDA Teachers Certificate at the age of 20. I managed to gain employment for some time through dance, performing in various shows which was a brilliant experience.

I was lucky enough to meet Selena 5 years ago and our friendship blossomed immediately due to similar interests and our love for dance.  The dream of SSDA was spoken about and I couldn't wait to teach Tap again.  Her passion for believing everybody deserves the right to dance is inspiring and am truly honoured to be a part of it.

  • Certificate III in Fitness

  • Pilates teacher certification with Barre Body

  • Registered AusREP with Fitness Australia

A lover of retro VHS home workouts, I have been practicing yoga and aerobics as well as dancing for over 25 years. Movement and fitness have always brought me joy.

Pilates, Barre and Dance have provided me with support, strength and balance after having children. I love how the small, controlled movements in these styles are really achieveable and have a big impact. Sharing this love, through teaching to young and old has shown me that everyone can find balance through concious movement.

  • ERYT - 500

  • Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher | Kids Yoga Teacher | Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher

The ancient philosophies and scriptures of Yoga have so much to offer in this modern world where we often feel disconnected and lacking energy and joy. I love being able to weave these ancient teachings into my classes offering students insights both on and off the mat.

My intention is to educate and build community through movement, breath work and spiritual connection.

I have a passion for women's health and working with children. This is at the root of many of my practices with an emphasis on supporting women through prenatal care, birthing and beyond.

I was fortunate to be introduced to Yoga at a very young age by my mother and have fond memories of practicing yoga with friends whilst still in primary school. I have been practicing Yoga for over 20 years. My practice has evolved through the challenges of injuries and motherhood and each of these has left me feeling grateful for and connected to my practice.

I look forward to sharing a practice with you soon.
